DEMONSTRATION SITES

Hawaii Department of Education (HIDOE) has partnered with Stetson and Associates to create demonstration sites highlighting exemplar Inclusive Practices occurring across the state.  Demonstration sites will allow individual schools to share their journey in becoming a more inclusive school with other educators across the Hawaiian islands.

Demonstration sites highlight a variety of inclusive practices, such as:

• Leadership for Equity and Excellence (Part 1)

• Leadership for Equity and Excellence (Part 2)

• Positive Learning Environment – Tier One Behavior Supports

• Positive Learning Environment – Tier One Behavior Supports (Restorative Practices)

• Quality Practices in Specialized Supports (Elementary)

• Quality Practices in Specialized Supports (Secondary)

• Quality Collaborative Teaching (Elementary)

• Quality Collaborative Teaching (Secondary)

• Student-Centered Decision Making

• Maximizing Educational Assistant/Paraeducator Potential

• Strong Tier One Instruction

At these sites, visitors will be able to observe inclusionary practices in action, meet with school teams, and engage in discussion about how these inclusionary practices could transfer from one campus to another.
